Brownstein and Saint-Gobain Take Home Two PRSA Pepperpot Awards

Agency and long-time client’s public relations work recognized in Press Conference and Community Relations categories

PHILADELPHIA– December 6, 2017 – Brownstein Group and Saint-Gobain were honored at the 2017 Public Relations Society of America’s (PRSA) Pepperpot Awards, taking home awards in the Press Conference and Community Relations categories. The awards program recognizes the Philadelphia region’s top public relations professionals and their work.

Brownstein Group and Saint-Gobain won a first place award (Pepperpot) in the Press Conference category. This is Brownstein Group and Saint-Gobain’s third public relations industry award for the press conference. Earlier this year, the duo were recognized with two national awards – 2017 PRSA Bronze Anvil Award and 2017 PR Daily Media Relations Award.

Saint-Gobain turned to Brownstein Group for help taking a non-traditional approach to publicly announcing its sponsorship of the LOVE Park Welcome Center. Saint-Gobain partnered with Philadelphia Parks & Recreation, Fairmount Park Conservancy, Visual Communications and KieranTimberlake to design a 15-by-7 ft. interactive rendering of the revitalized LOVE Park that allowed the public to see itself in the park’s future. The rendering was revealed during a press conference attended by Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney. The press conference garnered nearly 20 pieces of high-quality media coverage and social media content resulted in a nearly 300 percent increase in average engagement on Saint-Gobain’s owned social media channels.

Brownstein Group and Saint-Gobain also won a second place award (Ladle) in the Community Relations category for the company’s largest philanthropic initiative – the Building Our Future Together program. This is the fifth time the community relations program has been recognized with a PRSA Pepperpot Award since 2012.

In 2010, Saint-Gobain developed a national partnership with YouthBuild USA to demonstrate how Saint-Gobain enhances the well-being of people everywhere and since 2011 has enlisted Brownstein Group’s help to tell the story of the partnership’s impact with regional and national media. Nearing the end of the partnership’s seventh year, Saint-Gobain has completed several hands-on training and education sessions, six sustainable renovations, helped transform thousands of students’ lives, secured strong media attention, enhanced employee involvement and created an ever-evolving platform on which to tell meaningful company stories.
