PHILADELPHIA (June 20, 2017)– Brownstein Group has been named Honorable Mention in the Contest/Game category in the 2017 PR Daily Social Media & Digital PR Awards for its work on the IKEA LED Light Challenge game.
Judges reviewed more than 155 submissions to find the digital and social media champions making waves this year.
This is the fourth honor in the last two years for the project, having previously been honored by the PR News Digital PR Awards, the W3 Awards and the Web Marketing Association’s Internet Advertising Awards.
IKEA USA tasked Brownstein Group with creating a game spotlighting energy-saving LED bulbs (the only type IKEA sells in its stores). Against a soundtrack featuring the perfect amount of blips and bloops, the player clicks on incandescent bulbs as they fall, magically converting them to lower energy LED bulbs. At the end of the game, the player is able to see how much energy they “saved” based on their score. To further drive the green message home, the last screen features a “Did you know” fact – a bite–sized snippet about LED energy savings.
