PHILADELPHIA (October 10, 2016) – Brownstein Group and its work with IKEA USA and Garces Group have been selected as finalists in the 2016 PR News Digital PR Awards in the WOW Campaign, Contest/Game and Instagram communications categories, respectively, the publication announced. Winners in each category will be announced on November 6 at the Yale Club in New York City.
Nominated in the WOW Campaign category, IKEA USA’s #ColorWithIKEA campaign provided users with their own set of illustrations ready to be printed and filled in with their personal touch. Participants were encouraged to share their coloring creations on social media using the hashtag #ColorWithIKEA.
IKEA’s other entrant, the LED Light Challenge, was selected as a finalist in the Contest/Game category. As part of their focus on sustainability, IKEA tasked Brownstein Group with creating a game around energy-saving LED bulbs (the only type IKEA sells in its stores). Against a soundtrack featuring the perfect amount of blips and bloops, the player clicks on incandescent bulbs as they fall, magically converting them to lower energy LED bulbs. At the end of the game, the player is able to see how much energy they “saved” based on their score. To further drive the green message home, the last screen features a “Did you know,” a bite–sized snippet about LED energy savings.
Brownstein Group’s main objectives for Garces Group’s social media over a six-month period was to increase brand awareness and drastically grow its following organically through educational and engaging content. The program was a massive success, giving the brand double-digit growth in followers and increasing post engagement by 1,883.3%.
