PHILADELPHIA (September 26, 2016)– Mural Arts Philadelphia rolled out its new brand campaign last week, including a new mobile app, designed by Brownstein Group. Kenneth Hilario of The Philadelphia Business Journal detailed all of the new features for the the arts organization, which has created nearly 4,000 art works in Philadelphia since it was founded in 1986.
The app enables users to geolocate murals in the immediate vicinity and take self-guided, neighborhood-specific tours. The app, however, is not found on the Apple or Android stores. Users must go on Mural Arts’ website through their devices’ browsers.
A few 100 murals are available at launch, and more will be rolled out over the next year. Available murals are focused around “The Mural Mile,” the 2.5-mile route in Center City, and other popular murals in the city. The “ever-changing” collection is the reason you won’t find a dedicated app in Apple and Android stores.
Mural Arts will begin tracking visitation and usage over the next few months to determine how to best leverage the mobile app for sponsors that may want to get on board and sponsor a neighborhood tour.
