PENN STATE UNIVERSITY NAMES MARC BROWNSTEIN 2009 ALUMNI FELLOW

Philadelphia, PA, October 19, 2009 - The Penn State Alumni Association will honor Marc Brownstein with one of the 2009 Alumni Fellow Awards, the most prestigious award given by the association. On Wednesday, October 21, Brownstein will be recognized for his outstanding professional accomplishments in a ceremony at The Nittany Lion Inn on the University Park campus.

"Marc truly stands among the most successful of our graduates," states Doug Anderson, dean of Penn State's College of Communications. "He's the consummate professional: accomplished, energetic, positive, forward looking, savvy, authentic, responsive and responsible. I also truly appreciate-and admire-his loyalty to our program and to his alma mater…I simply wish we could clone him."

Brownstein has remained actively involved in Penn State affairs since graduating from the college in 1981. He is a member of both the Advisory Board and Board of Visitors for the school's College of Communications, as well as a member of the Lion's Paw Senior Honor Society Board and the Skull & Bones Senior Honor Society. Brownstein is also a frequent guest lecturer on campus.

"Penn State has played an important role in my life since I first stepped onto campus at University Park," said Brownstein, who is president and CEO of Brownstein Group. "It's humbling to know that the school I care about so much feels the same way in return."

The award is a cast bronze statue and framed certificate.
