to assist the committee in promoting PR as a vital component of
social media campaigns --
PHILADELPHIA, April 22, 2009 -
Brownstein Group (BG) Public Relations Director Erin Allsman was
recently invited to join the newly reconstituted client public
relations committee of the American Association of Advertising
Agencies (AAAA). The mission of the AAAA's committee is to elevate
and promote the access to and the profile of public relations as an
integrated marketing discipline. The committee is made up of
leaders of the public relations departments at integrated agencies
nationwide.
Allsman will participate in a sub-committee that will focus on
the overlapping roles of the PR and interactive disciplines as the
world continues to embrace social media. The sub-committee is
currently developing a survey on the topic that will be distributed
to member agencies. The results of the survey will then be
analyzed, presented and used to promote the vital role of PR in
social media campaigns.
"Technology and content have always had to work together in
order to produce an engaging online experience," Allsman states.�
"Now more than ever, as we see more marketing initiatives shift to
social media, it is imperative that the PR and interactive
specialists within agencies are strategically aligned."
The PR and interactive sub-committee is one of four committee
workgroups. The other groups will focus more specifically on
promoting the role of PR in integrated marketing campaigns, the
involvement of PR in new business on the front end, and best
practices for implementation and measurement of social media
tactics.
