Web Development Director
Job Summary
This hands on position oversees all client & internal agency web development. The Web Development Director works with the web technology team to ensure solutions are delivered to client with the most appropriate technology, on time and on budget. This person is also responsible for creating and implementing the technology vision and process for the Agency.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Extensive hands on Web Development experience: Presentation Layer Development, Middle-Tier Development (ASP.NET, PHP, etc.), and Database Development
• Ability to take a Photoshop mockup and create an accurate HTML/CSS/Javascript or Flash/Silverlight based user-interface from it
• Develops plans for web and interactive technology development
• Oversee writing of technical and functional specifications documents
• Collaborates with agency strategic and creative teams to concept and plan for client web development needs
• Manage technical development and production of all interactive projects
• Build back-end database structure for interactive projects
• Maintain all databases and tune databases for performance
• Supervise full time and freelance developers to manage the production of all interactive projects
• Oversees site architecture process
• Work with IT Dept. to maintain Hosting Environment
• Manage client reporting process
• Collaborate with Interactive team in responding to client proposals
• Demonstrate and present the firm’s technical capabilities as part of the sales process
• Keep current on all Interactive Technologies and learn all associated programming languages
• Collaborate with internal teams to develop and implement projects and to seek new business client strategies
Qualifications
• Development Tools: Visual Studio 2008/2010, Adobe Flash, FlashDevelop, MS Expression Blend (for Silverlight), Beyond Compare, FTP programs, Dreamweaver or other HTML Editor, etc.
• Extensive Photoshop experience
• Solid Windows Server 2003 and IIS Administration experience
• Experience with Content Management Systems and E-commerce Systems
• Programming Languages (6 or more of the following): ASP.Net, C#, VB.Net, PHP, Java/JSP, ActionScript (2, 3), SQL, HTML, JavaScript (jQuery, Prototype, Mootools, etc.), XML, XSL, CSS
• Databases (1 or more of the following): MS SQL Server 2000, MySQL, Oracle
• Operating Systems: Windows Server 2003, Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, Mac OS-X
• Business Tools: Microsoft Office Suite, Microsoft Project, Visio
• Interpersonal communication skills
• Collaborative and Team Work skills
• Presentation skills
• Ability to relate technical information to non-technical people
• Planning and Organizational Skills
Education & Experience
• Minimum BS in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent
• 6-8 years experience in Interactive, Systems Development
• 2-3 years managing/leading technical teams
• Agency experience a plus
