Brownstein Group Public Relations Wins Three PRSA Pepperpot Awards

PHILADELPHIA, December 5, 2013 – The Philadelphia Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America hosted its annual Pepperpot Awards on December 3 to honor the region’s top public relations professionals.

Brownstein Group (BG) was the recipient of 3 awards – including two for its work with client Saint-Gobain North America, as well as the distinguished PRSA President’s Award presented to BG vice president, public relations and social media director Erin Allsman.

BG was awarded top honors in the following categories:

Community Relations – Saint-Gobain North America

To kick off the second sustainable home rehab project in Philadelphia under Saint-Gobain’s three-year national partnership with YouthBuild USA, a non-traditional groundbreaking event was created featuring a pep rally-style ceremony to recognize students’ dedication to rebuilding the home and their lives and to share the project with the community.

Special Events and Observances – Saint-Gobain North America

To educate future generations about sustainable building and environmental preservation through its own example, Saint-Gobain launched a three-year national partnership with YouthBuild USA’s green job and construction training program in four markets. Now nearing the end of the third year of the partnership, Saint-Gobain has improved relationships with local communities and government officials, secured unprecedented media attention and enhanced employee pride.

President’s Award – Erin Allsman

Allsman received this award in recognition of her dedicated volunteerism, leadership, and professionalism as chair of the host committee of the 2013 International PRSA Conference. Under her administration, the conference host committee helped to plan and direct the three-day event, which was held in Center City Philadelphia and had more than 3,000 PR professionals in attendance.

“As host committee chair, I had the privilege of working closely with a dedicated and engaged group of professionals to create a memorable experience for our peers,” said Allsman. “I am honored to accept this award on behalf of all the committee members, volunteers and sponsors who gave of their time and resources to bring our shared vision to life.”
