Brownstein Group Names First Chief Marketing Officer, Promotes Three in Brand Strategy and PR & Social Media
Long-standing employee Adam Deringer to head Marketing and Phil Edelstein to lead Brand Strategy
PHILADELPHIA, April 22, 2013 — Brownstein Group, the longest-running, independent brand communication agency in Philadelphia, today announced the naming of Adam Deringer as its first Chief Marketing Officer. The agency also announced three additional promotions in its Brand Strategy and Public Relations & Social Media departments.
The development of Brownstein Group’s Marketing and Business Development department was born out of its commitment to growth. Celebrating 13 years at the agency, Deringer has a deep knowledge of its history and is well poised to assume the role of Chief Marketing Officer. He will promote Brownstein Group’s expertise through thought leadership, speaking engagements, audience outreach, and managing marketing and new business opportunities. For improved integration and execution, Deringer’s previous responsibilities as Chief Digital Officer will be integrated into the leadership of various departments within the agency.
Phil Edelstein brings his four years at the agency and additional experience as a marketing director for a consumer product company to his new role as Director of Brand Strategy. In this role he will lead messaging, strategic and tactical planning for Brownstein Group’s full array of clients, including IKEA, Beneficial Bank, AmerisourceBergen, and the American Association for Cancer Research.
In addition to Deringer and Edelstein, Jason Kaminsky and Kelsey Ruane were also promoted. Kaminsky, who joined Brownstein Group in October 2011, was promoted to Brand Strategist. In this role, he’ll lead the day-to-day work and help shape strategic communications plans for clients. Ruane, who also joined Brownstein Group in 2011, has been promoted to Junior Account Executive in the Public Relations & Social Media department. She provides communications support and social media management for a variety of accounts, focusing much of her efforts on IKEA social media.
