Schaeffer Says

Mark Schaeffer, Brownstein Group's seasoned studio manager and
life-long Flyers fan, gives his two cents about hockey, Kate Smith
and being a bulliever.
How long have you been a Flyers fan? Since
the first game I went to - December 3, 1967. They played the St.
Louis Blues and they won, 4-2.
How old were you? I was 8 years old. I went with
my cub scout group. That was actually my first introduction to
hockey. Loved it ever since. I was also there on May 19, 1974 when
they won their first Stanley Cup. It was magical. Kate Smith was
there. She sung "God Bless America" on the ice right before the
game and everyone just got the goose bumps. She is definitely
this team's secret weapon. Whenever they play a recording of her
rendition of that song, it gives the team an extra push and they
just come together and play their best game.
What have you thought about this year's Stanley Cup
Finals? Each game has gotten progressively more intense.
The offensive opportunities are getting shut down. Both teams are
playing tight, aggresive defenses.
What is your prediction for Game 4? Flyers will
win by 1 goal. I think every game is going to be won by 1 goal from
here on. Any game can go either way, but home ice is critical and
we have more experienced players than Chicago. The Flyers can do
this!
