A Pepper Melting Pot
Most years it's the same - the PR team, Marc, Berny and our
biggest cheerleader and the original PR girl, Beverly Brownstein.
But this year was different. We would receive multiple awards for
two campaigns - The Myexperiencemore.com launch for GORE-TEX(R)
(swept the social media categories!) and "One
World. For Everyone." for Bancroft - as well as an award for
the Graham Advisor newsletter, which is part of our "Actions
Matter" campaign for the Graham Company. With these complex and
integrated campaigns, the question wasn't who worked on them, but
who didn't?
This small decision of filling a table illustrated how truly
integrated the field of public relations has become. We must
translate our message across so many platforms, both online and
off, and that requires specialized skills. Our digital team helps
us bring messages to life online. Our creative team helps us
translate the brand visually. Our branding team arms us with the
tools to build our stories. And our PR team engages the audience
through media relations, social media and events. It's only when
all these people come together under one roof and each provides
his/her specialized insight that all the pieces fall into
place.
So thank you to the PRSA for bringing us all together and
helping us celebrate BG's own little pepper melting pot. Next year
we'll bring a bigger spoon.
